We switched to mainly URL rotations. This change did not impact already uploaded images and will help preserve our limited resources. The good news is that everyone will have a lot more signatures and avatars. And by limiting image uploads, we will be able to improve server performance for all users.

If you are still worried, there are plenty of websites that offer free image hosting, and SignAvatar will be able to randomize the URL's without any noticeable difference in service. Plus, the benefit of saved resources will protect SignAvatar servers from overloading and allow for more features, such as the upcoming twitter signatures, avatar ratings and more.

Hi, I'm new here and I'm wondering why my link was working fine in xat chats, and now it's got a switching and transparency problem.
[signavatar.com]

On xat chats, it now only shows the first image (doesn't switch at all) with a blue background, which is not how it is supposed to be. It is fine when you click the link, but not for xat chats :S
Anyone know how to fix this?

Sometimes it's not really easy to simply hotlink our avatars and signatures in other websites. Although the image tags are common on most (if not all) websites, some don't allow us to hotlink directly towards them.

I've seen ones powered by vBulletin where you were only allowed to upload your avatars or signatures to the server itself, which would probably mean being limited to more than one image, and pretty much using up more of the servers bandwidth depending on how many registered users use their avatars and signatures. Has there been any workaround for it, or would the admin have to use some kind of a hack to allow off-site avatar and signature image linking?

Although we're allowed up to 200 avatars and signatures in rotation, I think there should be a feature where we could tag and sort our avatars and signatures for different hotlinks.

Tagged avatars and signatures would not only allow us to sort them more easily, but with it, we don't have to delete or replace them with others when we only want to show which exact images on which website.

That, and it's also better than making alternative SignAvatar user accounts. We'd get banned for that anyways. :(

Hi there!

First of all, I want to say I loved the idea of SignAvatar. I aways wanted a service like this without have to deal with scripts and these stuff that I'm not used to handle.

As there's a board to request new features, I would like to make a suggestion: an option to change the images in a specific order (like upload time, or maybe the user could decide it arbitrarily), with the possibility to choose if the image reload each 15/30 min, 1 h or something like that. It would be even more interesting if it was possible to set the image according to the viewer's clock time. I've seen something like that once, but I have no idea if it's viable for this site.
